Our service centre will also take care of maintenance and repairs required on your Isuzu. You can trust our team to give you honest advice and exceptional levels of service, making us an excellent choice of service centres for your vehicle. We will handle the following maintenance and repair jobs:

Once your Isuzu is in motion, there is nothing more important than having the ability to stop in a quick and efficient manner when required. Having an insufficiently working braking system will hamper this process, so you have to take care of your braking system as a whole. In a brake system it is usually the brake pads, rotors, brake shoes, and brake fluid that require the most frequent replacement. Problems with the master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake line, proportioning valve and brake booster are less common. At Steves Auto Clinic, our technicians are well-experienced brake system specialists that will quickly assess your Toyota’s brakes for any possible problems. You can read more on their knowledge at our Brakes page.

At Steves Auto Clinic we can assess your Isuzu’s clutch and advise you on its expected life span, the chance of servicing the clutch and the option of skimming or replacing the adjacent flywheel to ensure that the clutch works as smooth as the day it drove of the showroom floor. When replacing or repairing the clutch assembly, technicians will replace the clutch pressure plate and release bearing and it has access to genuine manufacturer parts or good quality alternatives at an affordable price. Visit our Clutch Overhauls, Repairs & Replacements page for more information.

When it comes to fuel injectors, Steves Auto Clinic is truly the best in the business; we possess the latest technology, and continuously strive to improve and develop our services, machinery and technology. There are many signs that could indicate that your Isuzu’s injectors are in need of refurbishment or replacement; struggling to start properly, uneven idling, flat spots or loss of power, and higher fuel consumption than usual. We will determine the problem in no time and offer you the best solution for your Isuzu. You can read more regarding Fuel Injectors on our Fuel Injectors page.

It is important to be aware of failing shock absorbers and struts on your Isuzu. If you are unsure about when to have the shock absorbers and struts replaced, then simply have them checked during normal service sessions at Steves Auto Clinic. Feel free at any time to take your Isuzu to your nearest Steves Auto Clinic branch and have your shock absorbers and struts inspected. We have the expertise and the equipment to handle any shock-related issue. Prevention, at the end of the day, is far better than cure. Visit our Shock Absorbers and Struts page for more information.

Unichip plug and play

Did you know that there is between 70 & 100 Nm of additional torque waiting in the D-TEQ engine of your Isuzu KB300? With the new Elite conversion kit from Steve’s Auto Clinic you are mere minutes away from unleashing that power!

The Isuzu conversion is the culmination of the testing and development of the Unichip with PowerPlug for Isuzu’s D-TEQ 3.0 turbo diesel engine. It utilises the full power of the Unichip and PowerPlug to not only optimise power delivery, but also to improve fuel consumption.

The Power Plug is not to be confused with the mostly overseas sourced and non-specific, re-flash methods of tuning that most performance enthusiasts seem familiar with. During this re-flash method, the OEM ECU code is simply generically re-written with a hand held programmer via the vehicle’s OBD port. With the Power Plug, however, all the changes occur within this unit and are electrically communicated to your vehicle’s engine control system. No changes are made within the OEM computer and thus all the safety parameters of the engine, as set by the manufacturer, remains in place.
Once the Power Plug is installed, it leaves no electronic “footprint”; this also applies should you wish to remove the unit. This cannot be done when you program the OEM ECU with a re-flash programmer because the ECU knows and records that it has been reprogrammed. Even if you re-flash your OEM back to its original state, the OEM ECU dutifully reports how many times it has been re-flashed whenever the dealer checks via their diagnostic equipment, and if it reports something different than what the dealer’s records reflect, some difficult questions could arise.

The Power Plug comes as a complete stand-alone product, complete with a wiring harness that plugs directly into the OEM ECU via connectors that are perfectly matched to the factory connectors on your vehicle. There is no dangerous or complicated cutting into wires on your vehicle’s existing main wiring harness, and there is also no room for errors by wiring the wrong wires together. From start to finish, most installation times are less than five minutes (depending on the options you choose) and everything stays as it is in your vehicle. No extended and inconvenient vehicle down time, no long hours spent on the dyna, and no stripping and modifying of parts. As already mentioned, the Power Plug is completely removable and this means that you can choose to remove the unit from your vehicle when you want to sell it. You can even transfer it to another vehicle of the same model type should you upgrade your vehicle.

The basic Power Plug kit comes in the form of a unit that has only one performance option fitted and is non-switchable to other performance maps. You can also opt for the more flexible multi-map unit which includes a two-position option via which you can change between a standard map and the upgraded map, or you can configure that same unit to allow you to choose from up to five different map settings for your vehicle. So now you can have an everyday traffic map, a map for towing, a map for open road performance, to name a few of the options that can be tailor made for whatever motoring requirement you might have. At this stage, this technology and switching capability are done via a neat and functional unit supplied with the Power Plug, but Bluetooth switching is currently being developed so that you can change the performance map on your car via your cell phone in the future. This flexible and local condition and vehicle specific method of tuning can – in layman’s terms – be likened to an artist painting his own rendition of what he sees as opposed to someone merely photocopying a picture of something not quite the same as what the artist sees but still hopes that it will work and look almost as that of the artist’s efforts. Steves Auto Clinic are well aware that any motor manufacturer reserves the right to cancel your vehicle’s factory warranty and / or motor plan / service plan should you modify your vehicle, be it from mild to totally wild. It is worth noting that this not only applies to tuning upgrades. A little known fact is that this scenario can extend to something as the simple fitting of aftermarket alloy wheels, to even sound system upgrades that are not authorised. In SAC’s more than 30 years as the country’s leading aftermarket performance enhancer, and over the course of thousands and thousands of performance upgrades, history has shown that most manufacturer service outlets treat their clients with the same respect that their clients treat them, and this includes those that have had their vehicles upgraded in a responsible manner.

For further peace of mind, SAC is the only aftermarket performance enhancing company in South Africa to have a dedicated and stand-alone Research & Development Centre. This centre is responsible for the development and subsequent comprehensive testing – as done on their own specifically purchased vehicles under local conditions – of all the performance upgrade packages as undertaken by the entire SAC Group of outlets situated countrywide. So, besides knowing that your vehicle is not being used as a test mule to fine tune some company’s claimed performance capabilities, you can be assured that the quality of your vehicle’s upgrade will be the same, irrespective of the SAC branch you take your vehicle to.
